Daniel Deng, VP of Localization
Daniel Deng is the VP of Localization at CSCS International. He is physically stationed in China and responsible for helping our clients localize their supply chain operations.
Daniel brings in 16 years of experience in global sourcing, commodity management and supplier development. Prior to joining CSCS, Daniel worked for multinationals as well as leading Chinese companies. He is a true "trilingual" who speaks fluent English, Chinese and of course, the language of purchasing and supply chain management.
Daniel's last corporate assignment was Sourcing Director at Haier, a $19B giant and the No. 1 white goods manufacturer globally. He was responsible for $1.2B spend and sourcing strategies for seven commodities. Prior to Haier, Daniel was the Procurement Manager, Asia at Avery Dennison where he managed the local purchasing organization, established Asia supply base and led cross functional teams in localization projects.
Daniel got his systematic training on sourcing and supply chain at IBM, where he grew up from an engineer to a supply chain professional. He started as a sourcing engineer and soon was promoted to global commodity manager. Before he was recruited away from IBM, he was leading the whole Asia commodity engineering team to collaborate with headquarters on global supplier selection and contract negotiations.
Daniel has hands on experience in hard disk, computer, home appliances and equipment industries. He is an expert in developing Asia suppliers, setting up International Purchasing Offices and localizing manufacturing and logistics operations for multinational companies.
